Pietro “Peter” Cavataio, MD, FAAFP, Physician at Physician HealthCare Network, PC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in general practice as well as geriatric and addiction medicine.
After initially obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in biology and chemistry in 1986 from Wayne State University in Detroit, Dr. Cavataio subsequently earned a Medical Doctor from the Ross University School of Medicine in 1990, later completing his residency in family medicine at Bon Secours Hospital in Grosse Pointe, Michigan from 1994 to 1996. For more than 25 years, he has been practicing as a board-certified family physician specializing in geriatrics and addictions medicine, serving as chief of the Family Medicine Department with Lake Huron Medical Center from 1995 to 1998. Since 1995, he has also been affiliated with Physician Healthcare Network in Marysville, serving patients throughout St. Clair and Macomb Counties in Michigan. In addition, since 2018, Dr. Cavataio has provided superior care as medical director of MediLodge of St Clair, a leading provider of long-term skilled nursing care and short-term rehabilitation solutions.
Hailing from Italy, Dr. Cavataio loved sciences, especially biology and chemistry, and enjoyed communicating with people, which accounts for his renown for his attentive and friendly bedside manner. He has always treated his patients with respect, compassion, and has been very attentive to their needs. An elected fellow of the American Academy of Family Medicine, Dr. Cavataio has also been recognized as a Leading Resident and accepted a Drexel Welcome Award. He became involved in addiction medicine because a handful of his patients were addicted to narcotics and they came to him for his help. As a career highlight, he cites his favorable reputation in the areas in which he practiced. In the coming years, Dr. Cavataio is hoping for the continued success of his practice.
