He previously worked as the chief radiologist for the Northridge Medical Center in Commerce, Georgia, the Walton Medical Center and the South Fulton Medical Center in Atlanta. Dr. Zimmerman was additionally active as an engineer for the Cadillac Motor Car division of General Motors.
Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Zimmerman pursued an education at Kettering University, earning a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1984. He concluded his formal academic studies with a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 1990. Following these accomplishments, he completed the residency program in surgery at Roanoke Memorial Hospitals in Virginia between 1990 and 1992 as well as the residency program in radiology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center between 1992 and 1996. Dr. Zimmerman had likewise obtained a diploma from the American Board of Radiology.
Beyond his primary responsibilities, Dr. Zimmerman has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. Since 2021, he has served as a member of Leadership Sandy Springs. He has been further affiliated with the Knights of Columbus, the Holy Spirit Church in Atlanta, Phi Gamma Delta, the American Medical Association, the Radiological Society of North America, the American Roentgen Ray Society and the American College of Radiology. Dr. Zimmerman has found success with his written works as well, having contributed his research to a number of articles published in medical journals.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Dr. Zimmerman has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. Nominated among the Outstanding Men of America, he was notably recognized on the Dean’s List at Kettering University and Wayne State University. Attributing his success to his discipline, dedication and faith, he is incredibly proud of the relationships that he has built with physicians and medical staffs as well as his ability to operate his own practice.
