Thomas M. Moran, MD, Psychiatrist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in psychiatry.
Dr. Moran graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa with a bachelor’s in chemistry before continuing his education at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. In 1965, he earned his medical degree and stayed at the school for his subsequent internship and residency, which he completed in 1971. He holds a Missouri state medical license and he is board certified in psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
A privately practicing psychiatrist, Dr. Moran worked as the head of psychiatry for St. Louis Veterans Administration Hospital and previously taught there as an associate professor. He was a navy physician for the U.S. Marine Corps and served his country for 13 months in Vietnam, becoming decorated as a medal for valor recipient. As an active member of several professional groups, he has been the former secretary for the Saint Louis Psychiatric Association and participated with the St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society and the Missouri State Medical Association.
Dr. Moran was trained at the St, Louis Psychoanalytic Institute in Psychotherapy. His areas of expertise include diagnosing and treating anxiety, depression and adult attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder through administering medication and psychotherapy. He grew up on a farm in Iowa before going to medical school in St. Louis. In the future, Dr. Moran plans to continue his psychiatric practice and continue helping patients.
