Ronald L. Peters, MD, MPH, Medical Doctor at MindBody Medicine Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in healthcare administration.

With nearly 50 years of expertise to his credit, Dr. Peters has excelled as the medical director of the MindBody Medicine Center since 2011 in addition to operating out of his private practice in Scottsdale, Arizona since 2004. He previously worked as the medical director for the New Hope Medical Center, a staff physician in the emergency department for the California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles, the director of the emergency department in Encino Hospital and the general medical officer for the Navajo Indian Reservation in Gallup, New Mexico. Moreover, Dr. Peters had treated patients in family and preventative medicine through private practices in Ashland, Oregon, Santa Monica, California and Denver, Colorado.

Prior to embarking on his professional ventures, Dr. Peters pursued an education at Stanford University, earning a Bachelor of Science in biology, with honors, in 1966. He continued his academic efforts with a Doctor of Medicine at the University of California Los Angeles School of Medicine in 1970. After completing an internship with the U.S. Public Health Service in Boston and postdoctoral training in epidemiology and preventative medicine with the National Cancer Institute, Dr. Peters concluded his formal studies at the University of California Los Angeles School of Public Health in 1978, at which time he graduated with a Master of Public Health.

In addition to these accomplishments, Dr. Peters has been certified to practice by the American Board of Family Practice, the Arizona Board of Medical Examiners and the Arizona Homeopathic Medical Board. He has found success with his written works as well, having authored the groundbreaking book “EDGEWORK: Exploring the Psychology of Disease, Beyond Diet and Fitness” in 2003. A point of professional pride, Dr. Peters’ book focuses on the encapsulation of power that the conscious and unconscious mind had over the human body and its perception of reality, having worked with experts on the subject to better understand this ideology which can be utilized to empower others in need.

Dissatisfied by his belief that conventional medical training was controlled and engineered by the pharmaceutical industry to prescribe and sell symptomatic medications for chronic diseases, Dr. Peters attributes his success to his understanding of the true cause of disease, which is a critical source of personal motivation. He was likewise inspired by his study of integrative and functional medicine to reverse chronic disease as well as his early exposure to how the mind governs the body. Looking toward the future, Dr. Peters hopes to develop a healing course comprised of short videos and an online reference platform that can be used as an alternative to symptomatic resolutions to health afflictions in the coming years.
