Title: Medical Director
Company: MindBody Medicine Center
Location: Scottsdale, Arizona, United States

Ronald L. Peters, MD, MPH, Medical Doctor at MindBody Medicine Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in healthcare administration.

With nearly 50 years of expertise to his credit, Dr. Peters has excelled as the medical director of MindBody Medicine Center, a private practice located in Scottsdale, Arizona since 2004. He previously worked as the medical director for the New Hope Medical Center in Scottsdale, a staff physician in the emergency department for the California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles, the director of the emergency department at Encino Hospital and the general medical officer for the Navajo Indian Reservation in Gallup, New Mexico. Moreover, Dr. Peters has treated patients in family and preventive medicine through private practices in Ashland, Oregon, Santa Monica, California and Denver, Colorado.

Prior to embarking on his professional ventures, Dr. Peters pursued an education at Stanford University, earning a Bachelor of Science in biology, with honors, in 1966. He continued his academic efforts with a Doctor of Medicine at the University of California Los Angeles School of Medicine in 1970. After completing an internship with the U.S. Public Health Service in Boston and postdoctoral training in epidemiology and preventative medicine with the National Cancer Institute, Dr. Peters concluded his formal studies at the University of California Los Angeles School of Public Health in 1978, at which time he graduated with a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology.

In addition to these accomplishments, Dr. Peters has been certified to practice by the American Board of Family Practice, the Arizona Board of Medical Examiners, and the Arizona Homeopathic Medical Board. He has found success with his written works as well, having authored the groundbreaking book “EDGEWORK: Exploring the Psychology of Disease, Beyond Diet and Fitness” in 2003.  In the book, Dr. Peters explores how we create life experiences based upon the content of the conscious and unconscious mind.  In this manner the challenges in life become opportunities for healing and self-knowledge. Dr. Peters studied with Master Teachers to understand the formative power of consciousness.

Dissatisfied by his belief that conventional medical practice was excessively controlled by the pharmaceutical industry to promote medications for chronic diseases, most of which reduce symptoms and do not cure the illness. Dr. Peters attributes his clinical success to his understanding of the true cause of disease, which is a critical source of personal motivation. He uses his ongoing study of integrative, or functional medicine to reverse chronic disease through lifestyle and mindstyle changes.  This process is greatly enhanced by understanding how the mind governs the body. Looking toward the future, Dr. Peters is developing a healing course comprised of short videos and an online reference platform that can be used by people to better understand how to reverse chronic diseases.
