With years of experience to his credit, Dr. Navarro has excelled as a health care provider at the Texas Med Clinic since 2020. Operating in an urgent care setting with a focus on emergency medicine, he is proud to have helped provide triage, evaluation and point-of-care testing for those suffering from COVID-19 during the pandemic. Prior to this appointment, he found success in sports medicine with recreational and collegiate athletes for over a decade, refined his skills in academia and treated patients at his primary care private practice. Dr. Navarro is additionally affiliated with such organizations as the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Texas Association of Family Physicians, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the American College of Sports Medicine.
Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Navarro pursued an education at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, from which he graduated with a Doctor of Medicine. Inspired by the stellar work ethic demonstrated by his sisters and parents alike, his family has served as a constant source of motivation to persevere during difficult times in his professional and personal life. He was likewise inspired by his experiences with illness in his youth, as he was exposed to physician’s offices during his formative years and hoped to pay those positive, comforting experiences forward to future generations through his practice. Among the many highlights of his career, he is incredibly proud to have shifted the focus of his career toward full-time urgent care medicine at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic as it meant meeting the needs of his community and the world at large. Looking toward the future, Dr. Navarro hopes to continue working in his current line of practice while advocating for the unification of the medical community throughout the world to better maintain the standards needed to care for their patients.
