Born in Welkom, South Africa, Dr. Mooney later moved to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories in Canada before immigrating to the United States in 2007. After completing her undergraduate degree she obtained a medical doctorate in 2019 from the Ross University School of Medicine and has provided superior care as a resident physician with the Family Medicine Residency Program at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta.
Dr. Mooney’s professional memberships include the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Canadian Association of Family Practitioners, the American Family Practitioners Association and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. In 2020, she was presented with the Georgia Academy Family Practice Research Poster Presentation Award, and she has also captured a Distinguished Worldwide Humanitarian Award and inclusion as a Top Professional of the Year in 2022 by Marquis Who’s Who.
Dr. Mooney is incredibly proud of obtaining her residency at Emory University. She also fondly recalls conducting her research on adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder so that the medical community can accurately treat adult patients with ADHD. In the coming years, Dr. Mooney intends to establish a full-scale family practice and contribute to her community as a small-town doctor.
