Aiming to choose a profession where she could challenge her mind and help others, Dr. Romero has since gone on to flourish as a physician and pediatrician in Ohio. Since 2013, she has excelled as a pediatrician with Elyria Pediatric Care in Elyria, Ohio, in which she specializes in asthma, breast-feeding and general pediatrics, newborn care and skin rashes. Likewise, she is a clinical instructor of pediatrics at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and a member of the Rainbow Care Network, the region’s largest coordinated group of medical professionals providing care to children. Dr. Romero also has admitting privileges at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. Earlier, she worked at the Cleveland Clinic Lorain for five years after being in private practice in Elyria for 25 years.
Dr. Romero earned a Doctor of Medicine from the Santo Thomas University School of Medicine in Manila, Philippines. She served her pediatrics residency at Lourdes Hospital in Manila, at the New York Downstate Medical School Affiliated Hospitals, New York Medical College and Metropolitan Hospital in New York. Board-certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Romero notably opened the first neonatal sector at the Westchester Medical Center and New York Medical College in 1982. Looking ahead, she aims to continue what she is doing for as long as possible, as well as encourage her teenage patients to prepare for college.
