Cecilia B. Calderon, MD, Family Practitioner, Pathologist, Composer, and Pianist at Calderon Medical Clinic, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in medicine.

Dr. Calderon became interested in medicine because of her father, who was a gifted doctor. She earned a degree from Boston University, going on to complete residencies in pathology at Heidelberg University and Georgetown University. In 1970, Dr. Calderon began her career as a doctor at the VA Hospital in Baltimore City, Maryland. By 1973, she had relocated to serve as an assistant professor of pathology at the Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Currently, Dr. Calderon is excelling as a family practitioner and pathologist at the Calderon Medical Clinic.

Reflecting on her success thus far, Dr. Calderon considers one of her greatest accomplishments to be pioneering the use of ultrasound in the detection of malignancy of the breast. She is proud to have been a contributor to this study, and she looks forward to pioneering the use of ultrasound effects on fetuses in the future. It has always been her primary goal to relieve people of their pain and anguish. She believes many of her professional accomplishments are a direct result of her lifelong philosophy to savor every moment and always work to the best of her ability. Likewise, Dr. Calderon’s faith in God has remained strong throughout her career, and, because of Him, she is consistently motivated to ease the suffering of her patients.

Outside of her medical ventures, Dr. Calderon is a gifted composer and pianist. She has written a vast amount of liturgical music, as well as numerous charitable works and catholic mission works. Her composition was blessed by the Pope, which was a rewarding moment for Dr. Calderon. Civically, she remains active amongst her community as the founder of the Calderon Catholic Charities for Needy Children.
