In preparation for her career, Dr. Hargraves attended many institutions of higher education, including Agnes Scott College, Montclair State University and Harvard University. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Montclair State University in 1990 and later graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey with a Doctor of Medicine in 1995. Dr. Hargraves completed a residency in internal medicine at St. Peter’s University Hospital in 1997. In 2000, she completed a residency in anesthesiology at the St. Louis University School of Medicine. In 2001, she concluded a fellowship in critical care medicine and anesthesiology with the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
