Haniya J. Halim, MD, Resident Psychiatrist with the University of Alabama Medical Center’s Department of Psychiatry, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in psychiatry.
Since 2020, Dr. Halim has found success as a resident psychiatrist with the University of Alabama Medical Center’s Department of Psychiatry. In this role, she conducts clinical work on an inpatient and outpatient basis, works in the psychiatric unit to care for patients and teaches other residents and medical students. Prior to this position, she was a behavior technician with Centria Healthcare from 2016 to 2017 and a research coordinator with the DeClaire LaMacchia Orthopaedic Institute from 2013 to 2016.
To prepare for her career, Dr. Halim attended Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan, earning a Bachelor of Science in psychology in 2016. She continued her higher education at the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, graduating in 2021 with a Doctor of Medicine. For her professional accomplishments, she was featured as a Top Doctor in Metro Magazine in 2022. Dr. Halim has also been recognized for Best Performance in Emergency Psychiatry and Best Performance in Addiction Psychiatry by the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In her spare time, she enjoys reading books about professionals in her field, listening to podcasts, painting, solving jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family.
