Anne Louise Phelan, MD, Medical Consultant and Writer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in primary care and occupational medicine.
Since 2004, Dr. Phelan has found success as a medical consultant and writer. She has over 35 years of experience in primary care and occupational medicine and has focused on various areas throughout her career. Initially, she worked in an urgent care center and emergency department.
After garnering diverse professional experience, Dr. Phelan decided to open her own practice. She attributes her success to her perseverance and hard work, and she is proudest of being an excellent physician and mother. Among her accomplishments, Dr. Phelan has four children, works full time and writes at the same time.
In preparation for her career, Dr. Phelan attended the University of Virginia School of Medicine and graduated with a Doctor of Medicine. To keep abreast of her field, she has maintained affiliation with the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association.
Alongside her primary professional roles, Dr. Phelan has worked with Doctors Without Borders. She also contributes her time to volunteer work in her community. In the coming years, Dr. Phelan hopes to finish her memoir, “The Disrupted Physician.” In her spare time, she enjoys writing and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
