Dr. John R. Rudisill

Dr. John R. Rudisill, a retired psychologist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in psychology.

With more than 45 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Rudisill is currently retired, having most recently excelled as a consulting psychologist with Psychological Services Inc. from 1969 to 2016. During this time, he was additionally active as the dean of the Wright State University School of Professional Psychology between 2002 and 2008. Moreover, Mr. Rudisill previously served as the director of behavioral science for the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University, the board chairman for the Eastway Corporation, the chairman for the mental health board of the American Psychological Association, the president of the Ohio Psychological Association and the president of the Miami Valley Psychological Association.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Rudisill pursued an education at Denison University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 1969. He concluded his studies at Indiana University Bloomington in 1974, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in clinical psychology. Dr. Rudisill became involved in the field of psychology as he had always wanted to help others and suited his strengths, given his unique characteristics and talents.

Following his retirement, Mr. Rudisill has found success with his creative endeavors, including through his musical performances alongside his band, The Bridge Band. Having written over 600 songs and recorded seven albums, he has proudly performed gospel music, popular oldies, country music and folk classics at nursing homes, church services, charitable benefits, restaurants, family celebrations and funeral services, among other intimate events. Furthermore, Mr. Rudisill has become an author as well, having penned a book about consulting.

In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Rudisill was recognized as the Teacher of the Year at the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University. The aforementioned university also presented him with a Senior Faculty Member Award prior to his retirement. Attributing his success to his hard work, his faith in God, and his ability to make a difference in the lives of others, Mr. Rudisill hopes to continue serving people while living a life that is in service to God in the coming years.
