Well-regarded for his dedication on behalf of those under his care, Dr. Garner has distinguished himself through his role at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Health, where he serves as a critical care pharmacist. Having previously served in a retail setting on behalf of the CVS Health Corporation, Dr. Garner felt drawn to a hospital setting out a desire to take a more direct role in patient care, and served as a critical care pharmacist at the UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina, from 2021 until 2022, whereupon he secured his current role.

Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Garner has availed himself to the field at large through scholarly research on the use of Impella medical devices and Heparin, an anticoagulant medication. Likewise, he has presented before his peers regarding enhancing mechanical ventilation comfort in patients through the use of titrate medications. To remain aware of developments in health care, Dr. Garner maintains his membership with such organizations as the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.

Before venturing onto his vocational journey, Dr. Garner pursued a formal education at the University of Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in biology in 2012. During this time, he joined the honorable fraternity of Phi Beta Epsilon, and served as a tutor and mentor. Following this period, he studied further at the university and attained a Doctor of Pharmacy in 2019. Outside of his primary academic efforts, Dr. Garner held several pharmacy internships at Kroger and Augusta University Health, and undertook two residencies at Prisma Health and Centra Health.

Among his most cherished accomplishments, Dr. Garner is most proud to have participated in various research projects, some of which he published. In accounting for his success, he credits the support of his family, as well as the lessons imparted unto him by his professional mentors. Looking toward the future, Dr. Garner aspires to establish himself in an intensive care unit setting as a preceptor for pharmaceutical students and residents, and perhaps rise to become a PGY2 residency director or adjunct faculty member at a pharmaceutical school.
