William Cofer, Dentist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in general dental practice.

Following obtaining a Bachelor of Science in biology, cum laude, with a minor in chemistry from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina in 1969, Dr. Cofer continued his education with a Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD) from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1973, where he received the National Endodontics Award and National Essay Award. Dr. Cofer attributes his success to his love for his profession. He has been doing it for nearly five decades and he loves it more than ever before. He entered his profession because when he was young, he wore braces and he wanted to become an orthodontist, but when he attended school, he realized orthodontics was too “narrow” for him, but loved the diversity of general practice dentistry.

Dr. Cofer is most proud of being a fellow of the National Academy of General Dentistry, which entails completing more than 500 hours of service and passing an examination. He has been a fellow of the NAGD for over 30 years. While nearing retirement, Dr. Cofer’s goal is to find a successor who is motivated to do the right thing and shares his passion for the profession for the long haul.
