With more than 15 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Rivera has excelled as a doctor and pharmacist with the VA Caribbean Healthcare System since 2020. Prior to this position, he worked as a dispensing pharmacist from 2013 to 2020. He began his career as a professor at the University of Puerto Rico from 2006 to 2016. During this time, Dr. Rivera obtained a certification in pharmacotherapy as well as a Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Puerto Rico School of Pharmacy in 2012.
Attributing his success to the influence and guidance of his wonderful parents, who instilled within him his critical thinking and problem-solving skills, Dr. Rivera was drawn to his field by his mother as well as the perks of the profession. Among the many highlights of his career, he is incredibly proud of having achieved great success early in his career as well as the opportunity to make a difference in his present post. Likewise, he is affiliated with both the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the American Academy of HIV Medicine. Looking toward the future, Dr. Rivera hopes to continue developing his skills in clinical pharmacy and mental health care in the coming years.
