In addition, he has taught as an adjunct clinical faculty member at Augusta University/University of Georgia School of Medicine since 2017, having also been with Pulmonary Critical Care of Atlanta since 2013. Earlier in his career, he worked within institutions such as Yale University Griffith Hospital, Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center, Washington University and St. Louis University Medical School. To remain abreast of his field, Dr. Lakshminarayanan maintains professional membership with the American College of Physicians, the American College of Chest Physicians and the American College of Physicians. He has also been a board member of the American Lung Association since 2020.

Abundantly educated, Dr. Lakshminarayanan earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Washington University in 1992, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in immunology in 1998 and a Doctor of Medicine in 2004, both from Rush University Graduate College. From there, he served as a resident physician at the University of Nevada, Reno, chief resident in internal medicine at the Yale School of Medicine and fellow in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine from the University of Missouri School of Medicine between 2005 and 2013. In five years’ time, Dr. Lakshminarayanan hopes to create and develop a program for the betterment of the medical procedures and techniques that they utilize for the accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of lung diseases specifically in the field of interventional pulmonology. He hopes for the program that he would like to create to be accessible to all the citizens in the community such as the lung cancer screening and staging for the early detection and treatment of lung cancer.
