Following obtaining a Bachelor of Science in physiology, pathology, and related sciences from the University of California Santa Barbara in 1982, Dr. Skiles continued her education with a Medical Doctor from the University of California Davis School of Medicine in 1987 and then served a pediatric residency with Phoenix Children’s Hospital from 1987 to 1990.
Dr. Skiles initially was an art major when she attended Santa Barbara City College and subsequently worked as graphic designer in production. Wanting something new, she took environmental studies, biology and chemistry at UC Santa Barbara and acquired a desire to enter the medical field.
From 1990 to 2012, Dr. Skiles provided superior care as a pediatrician with Children’s Medical Clinic and since 2012 with Proyouth Pediatric Health & Wellness in Rocklin, California, a premier facility specializing in pre-natal and physician introduction consults, comprehensive physical exams, urgent care appointments, 24-hour physician availability for urgent concerns and Coordination of care with hospitals, specialists and schools. To remain aware of changes and advancements in her field, Dr. Skiles maintains affiliation with American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association. In the coming years, she intends to add more physicians into her practice.
