William Clark, Pediatric Otolaryngologist at Dell Children’s Hospital, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in treatment of ear, nose and throat diseases.

Following coursework with the University of Texas at Arlington, Dr. Clark obtained a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1965 from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and continued his education with a Doctor of Medicine in 1970 from the University of Texas Medical Branch John Sealy School of Medicine. He then completed an internship with the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in 1971 and a residency in surgery with Walson Army Hospital in 1972. He began his career as a general dental officer and later as a medical officer in the United States Army and United States Air Force, before retiring with the rank of colonel.

Dr. Clark served a residency in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery with National Capital Consortium from 1971 to 1975. He is licensed to practice in Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Alabama and is board certified in head and neck surgery and otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology.

Since 2018, Dr. Clark has provided superior care as a pediatric otolaryngologist with the Children’s Ear, Nose and Throat Center at Dell Children’s Hospital, a leading pediatric acute care hospital located in Austin, Texas. Previously, he had excelled as a pediatric otolaryngologist with Children’s Hospital of San Antonio and the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System. He has imparted his knowledge as an ear, nose and throat specialist as professor of otolaryngology and pediatrics with the University of Texas; as a faculty member with the otolaryngology residency with the University of Texas Medical Branch in Dallas and with the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, University of Florida and San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium, where he served as a teaching physician and associate dean from 2000 to 2002.

Noted for his achievements in the field, Dr. Clark has received several awards, including the Distinguished Service Award from the Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Honor Award from the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. His military awards include the Legion of Merit and three Meritorious Service Medals. 

Dr. Clark attributes his success to his passion for helping others as well as to hard work and a strong work ethic. He also attributes it to his active participation in national and international medical education programs. Dr. Clark considers his career highlight to be his service as former associate dean at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium, which is considered to be the largest Air Force teaching hospital in the country. In the coming years, he hopes to continue his work as a medical doctor and to continue to provide good quality care services for his patients. He also hopes to continue to help educate, mentor and guide the next generation of physicians.
