Dr. Mackie attributes her success to the way she was raised. Both of her parents are very hardworking people who instilled in her a lot of empathy and compassion to help others with her expertise. was inspired by her father, a general dentist who was an immigrant and the first in the city where she grew up to be a professional, to enter her profession. Working for him as his associate made her realize how much she enjoyed working in the dental field. When she was at the New York University, one of her first patients had a genetic condition where people are born without teeth, very sparse hair, and some other issues. That took her to the postgraduate prosthodontic clinic, where she saw the different procedures they were doing. From there, she decided to make dental prosthetics her specialty. Dr. Mackie has performed over 8,000 implant procedures with over 2,500 of those being full arch restorations, and is hoping to expand her current practice to be able to provide service to more people.
