Since 2016, Dr. Borreson has provided superior care as an autism specialist with her own practice, Thrive with Dr. Ann, in which she provides direct care and consultation to families with children struggling with autism spectrum disorder or with anxiety, social relationships, or self-regulation difficulties, with her treatment rooted in neuroplasticity and sensory integration. Following obtaining a bachelor’s degree in natural science from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Dr. Borreson followed with a Medical Doctor in 1987 from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. She later continued her education with a Master of Science in health care management in 2009 from the University of New Orleans and earned a master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Southern California in 2016.
Dr. Borreson provided superior education from 1991 to 1994 as a clinical instructor in the Department of Medicine with University of Louisville School of Medicine and as a clinical assistant professor from 1997 to 2013 with the Department of Medicine with Tulane University School of Medicine as well as physician and educator from 2008 to 2009 with Ochsner Clinic Foundation in Jefferson, Louisiana. As a practitioner, Dr. Borreson made an impact as an adult and pediatric allergist from 1996 to 2013 and as an immunologist from 2000 to 2013 with Crescent City Allergy in New Orleans before founding her practice in 2016 and joining Ochsner Health System the following year.
Dr. Borreson attributes her success to her passion for the work that she does in the medical field particularly in the areas of immunology and autism. In the coming years, she hopes to dedicate more time in volunteering for charities and organizations that support children with autism as well as their families.
