Since 2018, she has served as president of the Mandaean Medical Professionals Association, an organization of physicians who practice the Mandaean religion that originated in what is the present-day Iraq.

Desiring to be a physician since she was very young and was treated at doctor’s offices, Dr. Roomi asserts that as a doctor, she has never worked a day in her life. In coming years, she intends to continue to excel with her practice at Emerson Hospital and would like to be more involved in medical education.
