After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering in 1990 from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Dr. Johnson continued his education with a Doctor of Medicine in 1994 from Creighton School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. He then served a residency in obstetrics and gynecology in 1998 with the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Johnson was certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2000.
Dr. Johnson has provided superior care as a physician and senior partner since 1998 with Red Rocks Ob-Gyn, a premier women’s health clinic in Lakewood, Colorado. His clinical interests include surgery for pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence and Da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery. In addition, Dr. Johnson imparts his medical knowledge as a clinical professor in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Colorado.
To remain aware of changes and advancements in his field, Dr. Johnson maintains affiliation with the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopy Tests and is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He has garnered an Apple Award from COPIC, a leading medical liability insurance provider founded by Colorado physicians.
Dr. Johnson attributes his success to having good education in a medical school where physicians were trained to be as balanced as possible, and where his emphasis was not just medicine, but putting family first. In his residency program, he was provided with an excellent core knowledge base to expand. The mentorship of Dr. Harvey Cohen has also guided him on how to be a good doctor. In the coming years, Dr. Johnson’s goals are to continue practicing good medicine and benefiting his community. As a board member, he aspires to continue being a leader in his field and expanding his surgical skills to take better care of patients.
