Since 2015, Dr. Evans has provided superior care as a pharmacist with St. Dominic’s Hospital, Jackson, Mississippi. There, her responsibilities include analyzing electronic orders, verifying electronic orders in terms of drug interactions, allergies, dosage, frequency and appropriate medication and checks all the medications in the pharmacy that go out.
After initially obtaining a bachelor’s degree in 2005 and a master’s degree in 2008 in biochemistry and molecular biology from Mississippi State University, Starkville, Dr. Evans continued her education with a Doctor of Pharmacy in 2012 from Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy, Birmingham, Alabama.
Dr. Evans’s professional memberships include the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, Mississippi Society of Health System Pharmacists, Alabama Society of Health System Pharmacists, American Pharmacists Association, Mississippi Pharmacists Association, Alabama Pharmacists Association and College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists.
Dr. Evans attributes her success to the constant support of her family, who have always been supportive of her dreams and aspirations ever since she showed interest in going to the medical field when she was young. She considers her most shining achievement was becoming a member of the East Central Community College Hall of Fame in 2003. As a pharmacist, her most notable achievement was being contacted by the same college to ask her if they could do a feature about her for their alumni magazine. Not only did they interview her for the feature, they also decided to put her on the cover. In the coming years, Dr. Evans is hoping to take on a leadership or administrative role.
