After initially obtaining a bachelor’s degree in general biology in 1983 from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, Dr. Wilson continued his education with a medical doctorate in 1988 and an internship and residency in internal medicine and pediatrics from 1988 to 1992 with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, now Rutgers University.
Since 1992, Dr. Cornelius has provided superior care in practice with East Houston Medicine and Pediatrics Clinic, a premier family practice, pediatrics and internal medicine establishment. From 1997 to 2015, he excelled in a similar role with the East Houston Regional Medical Center. He has accrued numerous accoladesincluding a Compassionate Doctor Award, Patient’s Choice Award and Keeping America Strong Award, as well as a Marquis Who’s Who Humanitarian Award.
Dr. Cornelius’s professional memberships include the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians and American Pediatric Association since 2006. In addition, he assists the East Harris County Engaging and Helping Communities Leadership Development Program, serves as affiliate minister at Inspire Church and was with the Board of Directors for S.T.O.P., Inc (Stop, Talk, Overcome the Pain) 501C3 organization that addresses teen suicide awareness and prevention within schools.
Dr. Wilson attributes his success to his strong faith. He became involved in his profession because he wanted to help people as far as their health needs and concerns especially in underserved areas. Once a month, he speaks at a small church in the Freeport, Texas area. In the coming years, he intends to be more into ministry and working around the globe.
