Simranjit Singh, Assistant Professor at Indiana University School of Medicine, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in medical administration.
Dr. Singh obtained his medical doctorate from Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana, India and served a residency at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2013 to 2016. He has subsequently provided superior care as a hospitalist with Indiana University Methodist Hospital, where he serves as the accountable care team lead for the orthopedic trauma service unit where he deals with perioperative medicine, and also as an assistant professor of clinical medicine with the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Singh’s professional memberships include the American College of Physicians and he sits on the education committee for the Indiana chapter for the American College of Physicians. Additionally, he serves as the secretary of the Indiana chapter of the Society of Hospital Medicine, the secretary of the Midwest Region for the Society of General Internal Medicine and a finance pillar lead at the Academic Health Center of Indiana University Hospital. He is also a member of the American Medical Association and American College of Radiology.
Dr. Singh was named a Featured Frontliner during the COVID-19 pandemic by the Society of General Internal Medicine and received awards for his academic presentations from the University of Illinois. In addition, he was awarded second prize in the Oral Vignette Competition in 2014 and first prize for a poster presentation at the Annual Research Symposium of the College of Medicine in 2016. Serving as a peer reviewer and judge for numerous journals, Dr. Singh has authored 20 combined professional society meetings presentations and peer-reviewed publications and co-authored appropriateness criteria updates in collaboration with the American College of Radiology.
Dr. Singh attributes his success to his passion for helping people who need proper health care. His most notable achievement was being recognized and thanked by his physician assistant students in the residency program, as well as his patients. His goal in the coming years is to be recognized in his field and take on leadership roles as well as bigger responsibilities in public service.
