Dr. Mahajan attributes his success to the love and encouragement of his wife and family. As a career highlight, he cites working at a hospital in a small town, providing curative services at a very minimal rate. Twelve health workers treated patients and trained two people from the town to administer medical services. Dr. Mahajan took pride in reaching people who were at the fringes of society and being able to treat them. In the coming years, he is hoping to write a memoir and continue to practice gastroenterology in the United States and India.
