Christina Garretto, DO, Physician at Mercy, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in primary care medicine.
Dr. Garretto initially obtained a bachelor’s from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania and continued her education with a medical doctorate from A.T. Still University, previously known as Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Mesa, Arizona.
Since 2006, Dr. Garretto has provided superior care as a physician with Mercy, named one of the top five large United States health systems for four consecutive years by IBM Watson Health. Mercy is one of the nation’s most highly integrated, multi-state health care systems, including more than 40 acute care, managed and specialty (heart, children’s, orthopedic and rehab) hospitals, convenient and urgent care locations, imaging centers and pharmacies. Additionally, Dr. Garretto serves as director of the COVID Respiratory Center with Mercy and as an associate professor with Saint Louis University.
Dr. Garretto attributes her success to hard work and dedication. She became involved in her profession because of the example of her pediatrician, who inspired her to pursue a medical career since she was age 10. She considers her most notable achievement being on the board of directors with Mercy. In the coming years, Dr. Garretto will continue to take care of primary care patients and perhaps do some acute care work once again. She is also looking forward to taking on more of a leadership role.
