From 1985 until his retirement in 2019, Dr. Tracey provided superior care as an general, invasive and interventional cardiologist with St. David’s Healthcare in Austin, employing specialized imaging and other diagnostic techniques to evaluate blood flow and pressure in the coronary arteries and chambers of the heart and uses technical procedures and medications to treat abnormalities that impair the function of the cardiovascular system.
Dr. Tracey was inspired to enter the medical profession by his father, an orthopedic surgeon, and his interest in science and medicine in his youth. He considers his most notable achievement his ability to treat heart attack patients for over three decades. One of the most gratifying things for him as an interventional cardiologist was when he sent patients home with normal heart function and no further treatment necessary for heart failure or bad rhythm problems. Currently, Dr. Tracey is enjoying his well-deserved retirement.
