After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire in 2009, Dr. Niazi continued his education with a Doctor of Medicine from the Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio in 2014. He served a residency in internal medicine with North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York from 2014 to 2017 and a fellowship in cardiology with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey from 2017 to 2020. Dr. Niazi subsequently returned to North Shore Hospital for his interventional cardiology fellowship from 2020 to 2021.
Since 2021, Dr. Niazi has provided superior care as an interventional cardiologist with James River Cardiology IN Colonial Heights, Virginia. In this position, he specializes in treating complex coronary artery blockages, peripheral vascular disease, and structural heart disease, predominantly valve problems including nonsurgical aortic valve replacement (TAVR) as well as and PFO/ASD closure. In addition, Dr. Niazi treats general cardiology diseases such as hypertension and high cholesterol and provides preventative cardiac care.
Dr. Niazi is board certified in interventional cardiology, general cardiology, and internal medicine. A registered physician in vascular interpretation, he also holds board certifications from the American Society of Echocardiography and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Niazi was recognized as the Fellow of the Year for Outstanding Teaching in 2020 and maintains his affiliation with the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Niazi attributes his success to the mentors that he had in college to medical school, as well as hard work and dedication to the field. Additionally, his parents had a lot to do with his success by helping him throughout the way. Dr. Niazi considers his most notable achievement to be completing an extra year of interventional training, which allowed him to take care of patients at their sickest.
In the coming years, Dr. Niazi intends to continue building his practice with improving technology in the field and advances in interventional cardiology. He also would like to do conduct clinical research and collaboration with different providers to help people live longer.
