Nusrath Habiba, Associate Professor of Pediatrics at University of North Texas Health Science Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in pediatric education.
Dr. Habiba initially obtained a medical doctorate from Madras Medical College at Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in Chennai, India in 1981. She subsequently completed both an internship and residency in pediatrics with the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock from 2006 to 2008. In addition, she served as chief resident with Northwest Texas Healthcare System, Amarillo, Texas. Since 2015, Dr. Habiba has excelled as an assistant professor and the director of pediatrics with the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth.
Dr. Habiba remains aware of developments in her field as a founding member of the Academy of Medical Educators. She has also contributed to the admissions committee for the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Habiba is additionally affiliated with the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Texas Pediatrics Society and the Texas Medical Association. Due to the nature of her practice, she has received various awards and recognition. Since 2016, she has been selected by her peers to receive the Top Doctor Fort Worth Award among myriad other accolades.
Attributing her success to the support of her family, Dr. Habiba considers her grandfather to have been her role model as well as the mentorship of Dr. Bowman at the department of Pediatrics. Drawn to the field of medicine since her childhood, she hopes to help others while aiding humanity as a whole. In the coming years, Dr. Habiba intends to experience the continued success of her practice in addition to becoming further involved in community service by teaching the public about health and nutrition.
