Sandeep Nair, Cardiologist at New Mexico Heart Institute, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in electrophysiology.
Since 2018, Dr. Nair has provided superior care at the New Mexico Heart Institute and the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, as an electrophysiologist board-certified by the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) and certified as a certified Cardio Electrophysiology Specialist – Physician, Adult Cardiology (CEPS-A). He received his undergraduate degree from Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, in post-doctoral research in cardiac electrophysiology. Dr. Nair completed medical school and his residency in internal medicine at Government Medical College in India.
Dr. Nair hails from a family of physicians, taking an early interest in electrocardiograms (EKGs). He maintains affiliation with the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association, of which he has also been a peer reviewer of journals. Dr. Nair maintains that his most notable achievement has been winning a Best Science Award in publishing “Risk Factors of Sudden Cardiac Death in the Young” co-authored with his wife.
Dr. Nair’s goal for the coming years is to progress in the clinical trials and advance in his knowledge of electrophysiology. He would also like to establish an electrophysiology fellowship and become a leader in it to train more physicians in the discipline. Dr. Nair’s advice to aspiring physicians is to remain humble, strive to excel, learn from others, and persevere.
