Satjit Bhusri, MD, FACC, Cardiologist at Upper East Side Cardiology, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in cardiology.
Having accrued nearly 15 years of professional experience, Dr. Bhusri currently excels as the founder, chief executive officer and cardiologist for Upper East Side Cardiology, where he also served as the medical director of the Vein Institute. Additionally, he is the principal of Castle Management Consulting, which aims to create the kind of seasoned physicians required to manage a successful and profitable practice. In recent years, Dr. Bhusri also founded the Society for Health Thought Leadership, a nonprofit that dedicates itself to the healthcare community.
At the start of his professional endeavors, Dr. Bhusri received a Bachelor of Science in molecular genetics through Cornell University and a Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York’s Downstate College of Medicine in 2007. Subsequently, he gained initial expertise with Lenox Hill Hospital, where he served as a resident and chief resident of internal medicine, as well as chief fellow of cardiology. Additionally, he maintained involvement as an assistant professor and the associate program director of cardiology between 2007 and 2010.
Dr. Bhusri attributes his success to knowing and understanding what it is like to experience medical troubles. In 2015, when he was only 35 years old, he suffered from cardiac shock and was confined in the intensive care unit for one month, where he was given only a 20 percent chance of survival. He became the patient, but with the network of great physicians, he survived. He is proud to live and tell the tale today, while also incorporating the experience into his professional work.
To remain abreast in his industry, Dr. Bhusri is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a council member of the American Heart Association. Likewise, he is a former associate program director of the cardiology training fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Bhusri’s advice to aspiring cardiologists is to enjoy the journey and to not be fearful of making mistakes because you are only human.
