Born and raised in Haiti, Dr. Bright drew inspiration the example of from his cousin, who studied medicine in France. Following suit, he earned a Doctor of Medicine from Université Louis-Pasteur in Strasbourg, France, in 1978, and subsequently conducted his medical training at the Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York, as well as at a university in Newark, New Jersey. After a short period in private practice, he went on to work at an AIDS facility, where he remained active until 2009.

Currently, Dr. Bright serves as a hospitalist and physician at the Texas Health Physicians Group Senior Medicine Association (THPG), where he cares for post-acute patients in rehabilitation facilities. In accounting for his success, he credits his propensity for going beyond what is required of him, as well as his genuine interest in learning more about medicine. For those seeking to follow his example, Dr. Bright counsels that one must truly love the field, for it requires extremely long hours and consistent hard work. Moreover, one must always be willing to expand one’s horizons and maintain an open mind.
