Juan Ramon Fabregat, MD, EdD, Chief Medical Officer at FinMedica TecSalud, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of healthcare management.
Having accrued more than four decades of healthcare administration expertise, Dr. Fabregat has garnered a laudable reputation as the chief medical officer at FinMedica TecSalud, a health system subsidiary of Tecnológico de Monterrey, since 2020. In this capacity, he is responsible for the general management and medical affairs of the facilities under his watch. Specializing in cardiology, Dr. Fabregat previously served as the atrial fibrillation program director at Hospital Angeles Lomas and as the chief quality officer of the American British Cowdray Medical Center in Mexico City.
Outside of his primary career endeavors, Dr. Fabregat has found success in education as an associate attaché to the Université de Montpellier in France since 1989, where he worked as a research assistant from 1989 until 1998. Most notably, he was also designated as the first dean of the School of Medicine of Universidad Panamericana, which he founded alongside Manuel Ramos Kuri in 1996. Dr. Fabregat initially became involved in higher education as an assistant professor at National Autonoma University in 1978, rising to full professor in 1985.
Dr. Fabregat’s excellence in the field of healthcare is born from his educational journey, which began at National Autonoma University, where he earned a Doctor of Medicine in 1983 and a specialist designation in cardiology in 1988. He was granted a subspecialist degree in electrophysiology by the Université de Montpellier in 1989. Following this accomplishment, Dr. Fabregat attained a master’s degree in medical management from Tulane University in 2004 and a Doctor of Education in ethical leadership from Saint Thomas University in Houston, Texas, in 2020.
In becoming involved with the healthcare industry, Dr. Fabregat drew inspiration from the example of his great-grandmother, who was one of the first female doctors in the United Kingdom. Among his many career highlights, he is most proud to have cared for so many different patients and to have reached such high executive positions in his field. He attributes much of his success to his Christian faith, as well as the loving support of his wife, who always encouraged him to go above and beyond what was required of him. Looking toward the future, Dr. Fabregat hopes to devote himself to teaching the next generation of physicians and to impress upon them the intrinsic humanity of the profession.
