Company: Memphis VA Medical Center
Location: Collierville, Tennessee, United States

Mary Boers, DNP, CRNA, Doctor and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Memphis VA Medical Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in anesthesiology.

Prior to beginning her career in health care, Dr. Boers attained a degree in marketing and home economics and spent many years as the manager of a store. Her interest in medicine was sparked by a desire to move on from an unfulfilling career and the encouragement of one of her employees, who also worked as a nurse. Tired of working 60 hours a week in retail, Dr. Boers made a life change and received a diploma of nursing from the Baptist College of Health Sciences in 1996. Additionally, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Union University in 2005, a Master in Anesthesia from Arkansas State University in 2008 and a Doctor of Nursing from the University of Alabama, Birmingham in 2015.

Today, Dr. Boers excels as a doctor and certified registered nurse anesthetist specialist at the Memphis VA Medical Center, in which she is responsible for pre-operative testing and interviewing, anesthesia, and post-operative care. She has also served in the same role for the Medical Anesthesia Group since 2008. Dr. Boers attributes her career success to her determination and drive, hoping these traits will lead her to a career in teaching. Presently, she maintains affiliation with the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, the Tennessee Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the Association of VA Nurse Anesthetists, and sits on the board of the Collierville High School Robotics Team. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising, quilting and sewing.
