In preparation for his exemplary career as a neurologist and physician, Dr. Katz attended the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University, where he earned an MD in 1976, after completing an externship in medicine at Bellevue Hospital in 1973. He went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at Sheba Medical Center in 1980, a fellowship in clinical polysomnography at the University of Haifa in 1985, a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at the Cleveland Clinic in 1988 and a fellowship in clinical epilepsy at the Yale School of Medicine in 1989. In 1991, Dr. Katz completed an additional residency in clinical epilepsy at Yale University.
Dr. Katz additionally holds numerous certifications in his field, including a specialist’s certificate in neurology, which he earned in 1985. He was certified as a diving medical officer in 1976 and a medical officer with the Israeli Academy of Military Medicine, in addition to being a board-certified neurologist in both the United States and Israel. Dr. Katz holds an Israeli Medical License, a Missouri Medical License, a Connecticut Medical License, a FLEX certificate and an ECFMG certificate, among others.
Operating out of his solo practice, MedAhead, Inc., in Orange, Connecticut since 2004, Dr. Katz has been the president of this company since 1995 and has also been a consulting neurologist at Norwalk Hospital since 2004. He previously worked in solo practice in Southport, Connecticut from 2002 to 2004, and was a partner of the Neurology Associates of Norwalk PC for nearly a decade prior. From 1997 to 2002, Dr. Katz was the director of the Epilepsy Center at Norwalk Hospital, and from 1996 to 1998, he served as the medical director of Telemedicine Consultants America.
In recognition of his accomplishments in his field, Dr. Katz has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors. From 2002 to 2014, he was listed among the Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area with Castle Connolly, and in 2010 and 2013 he was named Most Compassionate Doctor by Patients’ Choice. In 2008, 2010, and 2012, he was awarded Best Doctor by Patients’ Choice, among myriad further accolades. In Dr. Katz’ free time, he enjoys collecting American coins, windsurfing, and scuba diving.
