Jason G. Tronetti, DO, FAAFP, DABFM, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Cole, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in osteopathic medicine.
Dr. Tronetti recalls spending time in a hospital in the 6th grade for quite some time, due to a medical condition. During that time, he became very fond of his doctor, Dr. Seerer, who gave him great care. His uncle, Dr. Jeffrey Calabrese became involved in his care as well, and took him under his wing. His cousins also were doctors, which led him to decide he was going to become a physician. He never had a desire to do anything else. During his four years of medical school, he thought he was better suited to be a radiologist and was accepted into an internship. It was during that time that he realized he liked family medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Gannon University in 1995. He then received a Doctor of Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1999. Upon completion of his degrees, he became a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine in 2002.
Since 2002, Dr. Tronetti has been a doctor of osteopathic medicine with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Cole. Previously, he was a resident of the Geisinger Health System in 2002. Alongside his career, he has been a physician for the Port Allegheny Area School District and the Otto Eldered School District. Civically, he has been on the board of directors with Smith Point Area School District, Port Allegheny Area Ambulance Association and Charles Cole Hospital. He has also been a medical director for Hilltop Area Ambulance Association, Pediatric Services of America and the Lakeview Nursing Home. As a testament to his success, Dr. Tronetti was inducted as a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Osteopathic Medicine Association, Pennsylvania Osteopathic Association and as a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
