Dr. Smith was hit by a car when he was 12-year-old and the attending chiropractor informed him that while he had no current effects, later in life he would experience back problems. At 19 years old, he began to experience back pain, which led him to become a chiropractor. He earned a Doctorate in Chiropractic from the Life Chiropractic College West in 1995. Upon completion of his schooling, Dr. Smith became a diplomate of the International Academy of Acupuncture. In order to keep in shape, Dr. Smith started practicing martial arts. He became a grandmaster, earned an 8th Dan Black Belt in Hapkido, 8th Dan from the World Taekwondo Federation and became a certified Guro by Perkiti Tirsia Kali.
Dr. Smith hopes to become a faculty professor and wants to grow his Martial Arts Academy. He also hopes to have his own priory in the Order of St. John and continue to grow his leadership program for kids 10 to 17 called Warrior Camp. He is currently the owner of a family practice in Fountain Hills, Arizona and the co-owner of a martial arts studio. He is also the Arizona regional director of HWA Rang Kwan Korean Martial Arts Schools and the founder of the Legion Elite Academy and Warrior Camp. As a testament to his success, Dr. Smith received an Orthodox Order of St. John Knight of Honor in 2020 was a Knight of Honor for the Order of St. John.
