Gary W. Olson, MD

Gary W. Olson, MD, Cardiologist at Hamilton Cardiology Associates, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of cardiovascular disease management.

Dr. Olson is a specialist in cardiology, having accumulated more than four decades of experience in the healthcare industry. In his capacity at Hamilton Cardiology Associates, he cares for outpatient and hospital settings. He performs procedures such as cardiac catheterization, cardiac stress tests, pacemaker installation and cardio aversions. He also interprets echocardiograms and cardiac nuclear studies. Prior to working in his present role, Dr. Olson finished an internal medicine residency and a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham between 1978 and 1983.

Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Olson has contributed more than 10 research articles to various professional journals. He also served as a local investigator on behalf of a clinical trial using thrombolytic agents for patients suffering from heart attacks. Dr. Olson was notably recognized as the Best Doctor of the Year by a local newspaper.

Before venturing onto his vocational path, Dr. Olson attended Pacific Union College, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in biophysics in 1974, magna cum laude. Following this accomplishment, he received a Doctor of Medicine from Loma Linda University in 1977 where he was voted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. He is board-certified in internal medicine. Likewise, he has been certified in cardiovascular disease treatment and was licensed to practice medicine in the states of Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. To remain aware of developing trends, he is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology as well as being a member of the American Heart Association, and the American Medical Association.
