Cecilia A. Jimeno, MD, Professor and Chairperson at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of medicine.
With over three and a half decades of practiced expertise in the areas of pharmacology and toxicology to her credit, Dr. Jimeno has achieved professional success through her long tenure at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, for which she has earned distinction as a professor and the chairperson of the department of pharmacology. Most proud to have distinguished herself on behalf of the college from which she graduated, and to receive a wealth of accolades for her exemplary research, she consistently strives to teach and mentor the next generation of practitioners of medicine. Likewise, outside of her commitments at the university, Dr. Jimeno found success at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Jimeno’s exemplary performance in the field was born of her academic journey, which began at the University of the Philippines College of Allied Medical Professions, from which she attained a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy in 1986. Following this accomplishment, she graduated with a Doctor of Medicine in 1994. Eminently qualified in her field, Dr. Jimeno has been recognized as a diplomate in internal medicine, and in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism.
To commemorate her accomplishments, Dr. Jimeno has garnered several accolades, including an Outstanding Educator Award from the University of the Philippines Medical Alumni Association in 2020, as well as acknowledgment as an Exemplar in Research at the Philippine College of Physicians, among other recognitions. In accounting for her standout success, Dr. Jimeno credits her college education, the encouragement of her family and mentors and her devout Christian faith.
