Charisse D. Johnson, MD, Physician at Premier Pediatrics of Indiana, LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in pediatrics.
Dr. Johnson was first exposed to the medical field by her aunt, a renowned anesthesiologist who taught her about medications used in surgeries and helped her with several science projects. From there, she did a shadowing project once a week in local hospitals and became a certified EMT as a senior in high school. With these early accomplishments, she felt that her path was set. Upon earning a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University, Dr. Johnson soon obtained a Doctor of Medicine from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2007. Subsequently, she completed a residency at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital and became board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 2010.
Finding great success in her professional career, Dr. Johnson excels in her position as a physician at Premier Pediatrics of Indiana, LLC. She has also been a pediatrician with the Beacon Health System since 2010. She works by the motto, “Treat every patient as if they were your own child.” To remain abreast of her industry, she maintains professional affiliation with the Chicago Medical Society and the Indiana local and state chapters of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Notably, Dr. Johnson was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society in 2006, as well as the Phi Eta Sigma, Alpha Lambda Delta and Golden Key Honor Societies in 2002.
Reflecting on her illustrious career thus far, Dr. Johnson attributes her success to having a relationship with God and with her parents, who raised her to be respectful and to operate with integrity. She also credits it to a willingness to learn from those in the field, as she continues to grow each day alongside her colleagues. Dr. Johnson hopes to be remembered for her compassion and for going above and beyond for her patients. In five years’ time, she envisions herself running a successful independent practice while also giving back to the community through free parenting classes or mentoring with teenagers. Likewise, Dr. Johnson wants to be able to promote the health and wellbeing of the entire person by establishing the importance of spiritual healing with the physical.
