David J. Schroeder, MD, Owner at Wellesley Personal Care, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in internal medicine.
Inspired by the influence of his mother, who was a surgical nurse in Boston and a nurse in Normandy during World War II, Dr. Schroeder had decided to pursue a career in medicine from a young age. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts from Antioch College, he went on to obtain a Doctor of Medicine from McMaster University in Canada in 1975. Continuing his medical requirements, he was a resident in internal medicine and a McGill University and at Jackson Memorial in Miami, Florida. Dr. Schroeder commenced his career in 1980 as an assistant professor of medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine, where he taught and conducted clinical research for 10 years. Since 1990, he has served as the owner of Wellesley Personal Care and is affiliated mainly with Newton Wellesley Hospital.
Renowned for his expertise, Dr. Schroeder was the recipient of the Partners of Excellence Individual Award in 2017, as well as a two-year Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar in Biostatistics Fellow. Attributing his success to family role models, he recalls the emphasis his parents put on hard work and community involvement. To remain abreast of his industry, Dr. Schroeder is a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society and a board member of the New England Quality Care Alliance, which is a physician group associated with Tufts Medical Center. Likewise, since 1996, he is the co-founder of the board for Primary Care LLC. In five years’ time, he aims to continue seeing patients for as long as possible. Dedicated to adapting his practice so that consistently high-quality care is provided, he envisions his clinic and career flourishing in the coming years.
