John H. Ferguson, MD, Doctor at Pinner Clinic, PA, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in medicine.
Inspired by his family physician, Dr. Ferguson decided to pursue a career in medicine at a young age. After graduating from high school in 1977, he earned a Bachelor of Science Magna Cum Laude from Wofford College. Later, in 1981, he earned again a Doctor of Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina, proceeding to complete a residency at Greenville Hospital System. Building on his educational background, Dr. Ferguson became board-certified in family medicine in the months that followed. Since 1984, he has excelled as a doctor at Pinner Clinic, PA. He additionally serves his community as a medical review officer.
Outside of his primary ventures, Dr. Ferguson spent 27 years as a scout leader for the Boy Scouts of America. An elder for Lake Murray Presbyterian Church, he maintains affiliation with Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford College and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Reflecting on his illustrious career, Dr. Ferguson attributes his success to never giving up on his dreams. Likewise, he credits the endless encouragement and support from his family and friends throughout high school and college.
Looking toward the future, Dr. Ferguson hopes to continue working in his practice. He feels lucky to have such a genuinely good relationship with many of his patients. He is able to comfortably ease anyone who walks into his office, which is what keeps many of his patients coming back year after year. Though the COVID-19 pandemic has forced Dr. Ferguson to adjust his business in recent months, he remains happy to serve his patients no matter the outstanding circumstances. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife share two children and five grandchildren.
