Upon receiving a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from SUNY Maritime College and a Master of Science in management technology from the NYU Tandon School of Engineering, Dr. Herzog ultimately felt that he could make a stronger impact on his community as a dentist. He went on to earn a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and completed a residency at a veteran’s affairs hospital. Today, Dr. Herzog excels as a dentist and partner for Dental Wellness of Albany, where he practices mercury safe dental amalgam removal. He finds cosmetic and esthetic dentistry especially rewarding, as it often changes the quality of life for his patients, but also enjoys general and prosthetic dentistry. A fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, he is certified in SMART dentistry, naturopathic and biological dentistry and ozone therapy, as well as board-certified in integrative biological dental medicine. Dr. Herzog attributes the success of his career to perseverance, daily challenges and a love of learning.
Renowned for his understanding that the mouth has systemic relationships with the body, which must be evaluated for better overall health, Dr. Herzog has been honored on various occasions. Named the Town of Bethlehem’s Citizen of the Year, he has been awarded by News Channel 13, St. Peter’s Health Care Services and The Times Union as a Jefferson Award recipient for service to his community. He also has been recognized several times as America’s Best Dentists, America’s Top Dentists, New York Top Dentists and as one of Albany’s Top Dentists as selected by his dental peers and published in the Capital Region Living Magazine. To remain abreast of his industry, Dr. Herzog maintains affiliation with the International Association of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, American Dental Association, State Dental Society of New York, International Academy of Mini Dental Implants and Third District Dental Society. Notably, he served with the U.S. Naval Reserves as a strategic stealth officer. In his spare time, Dr. Herzog is active with the Boy Scouts of America as a scout leader.
