Supported by 20 years of experience within the fields of medicine and psychiatry, Dr. Malik has garnered a lauded reputation at Johns Hopkins University, where he has excelled as a physician and director of the American Psychiatry Program since 2019. A former residency program director at the School of Medicine of Howard University for a decade between 2009 and 2019, he has been practicing medicine since the turn of the century.

To prepare for his illustrious career, Dr. Malik attended Rawalpindi Medical University in his native Pakistan, where he obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. Although his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Malik is especially proud of his former residency students, who have often elevated to high ranks in academic or clinical leadership. To attest to his profound success in the field, he has received various teaching awards and was named a distinguished fellow of the American Psychiatry Association. Looking toward the future, Dr. Malik intends to bring to light the struggles immigrants face when discussing mental health, as well as highlight different issues within particular demographics that are treated disproportionately. In addition, he desires to experience the continued growth and success of his career, noting that he would like to continue his own professional training.
