Temitope Foster, MD, Gastroenterologist at DeKalb Gastroenterology Associates, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in gastroenterology.
Spending time in Nigeria in her youth, Dr. Foster witnessed first-hand the lack of access to medical care within the country, and subsequently desired to make a difference in other individuals’ lives. As she grew older, she attended Stony Brook University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in psychology in 1997. From there, she earned a Doctor of Medicine from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2002 and completed her residency at the Mount Sinai Hospital in 2005. Between 2005 and 2006, she served as a hospitality at the Yale-New Haven Hospital before becoming a fellow in gastroenterology at the University of California Los Angeles Health System – a position she held until 2010. During this timeframe, she also obtained a Master of Science in clinical research from UC Los Angeles in 2010.
Since 2010, Dr. Foster has been a noteworthy gastroenterologist at DeKalb Gastroenterology Associates in Atlanta. Likewise, she has served in private practice since 2015 and is a past assistant professor at the Emory University School of Medicine, serving in the role between 2011 and 2015. Published extensively in her field, she has maintained membership with the American College of Gastroenterology and the Atlanta Medical Association.
To attest to her success, Dr. Foster has earned a myriad of grants within her industry and was nominated for Atlanta Top Doctors in 2020. Additionally, she was nominated for outstanding service by the SSP South DeKalb Community Development Inc.’s Fifth Annual Salute to Doctors, Physicians and Caregivers Award Dinner in 2019. Looking forward, Dr. Foster intends to solidify and grow her practice.
