From a young age, Dr. Zakir’s parents encouraged him to pursue a career in medicine. Growing to love the atmosphere of a hospital and helping patients, he decided to do as his parents recommended and study to become a doctor. After earning an MD from Cross University, he was board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and endovascular cardiology. Further, he acquired a PVI Certificate in vascular ultrasound.

Since 2014, Dr. Zakir has excelled as a cardiologist at the Heart and Vascular Institute of Central Jersey. He additionally works as the director at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he is also the director of the trans radio program. Throughout his career, he has shared his knowledge by contributing articles to numerous medical publications. Civically, Dr. Zakir loans his skills as a vascular doctor for the Police Defense Foundation, and he supports children’s education outside of the United States. A gifted lecturer, he considers being invited to lecture both inside and outside of the country to be some of his greatest achievements. Reflecting on his success, he credits his passion for being a doctor. Dr. Zakir loves to work with his patients and heal them to the best of his ability.

An active member of his industry, Dr. Zakir maintains affiliation with the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiovascular Biology and Intervention. Looking toward the future, he is excited to climb higher in his field. He hopes to acquire more recognition for the work he is doing on a local level, which will result in more referrals and new patients. In later years, he would love to grow internationally. In his spare time, Dr. Zakir enjoys playing tennis, basketball, and football.
