Luz Angela Lopez, MD, Doctor at Ohana Kids and Family Kare, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in family medicine.
Dr. Lopez became involved in her profession due to her love for healing and medicine. Ever since she was 10 years old, she loved playing doctor and by the age of 14, she decided she would become a physician. She earned a Doctor of Medicine from Montemorelos University in Mexico in 1992 and went on to complete a PGY1 internship in family practice with Bella Vista Family Residence Program in 2002. Subsequently, she followed that up with doing her residency at the Phoenix Baptist Hospital Family Medical Center in 2004. She has certifications in BALS, ACLS and PALS and is certified in immigration physicals by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and by the American Board of Family Practice in 2004. Additionally, she has an ECFMG Certification and is licensed in the state of Arizona.
Dr. Lopez attributes her success to God, along with her persistence in chasing and achieving her dreams. She began her career working for a family practice in 1993, remaining until 2001. In 2001, she opened Kids Kare Pediatrics and Family Kare, where she was a physician and the owner until 2019. Since 2019, she has served as a family physician, manager and supervisor of Ohana Kids & Family Kare. Every year, Dr. Lopez takes time to go on a medical missionary to Africa. In five years’ time, Dr. Lopez hopes to continue to grow her new practice and provide the best possible care to her patients, while maintaining a great reputation.
As a testament to her success, Dr. Lopez has earned a myriad of accolades and recognitions. Notably, she was elected a Top Medical Practitioner by Women in Medicine, as well as named to Leading of the World in 2020. She received a diploma from Women in Medicine in 2020, was listed in Top Doctors in 2020 and was elected Heartfelt Physician by the Phoenix Latino Perspective Magazine in 2008. Additionally, she received the Practice Management Award from the Phoenix Baptist Residency Program in 2004. To remain abreast of changes and advancements in her field, she holds membership with the American Academy of Family Practice and the American Association of Physicians.
