Christy Y. Inae, Acting Chief Medical Officer at the Naval Health Clinic of Hawaii, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in family medicine.
Inspired by her family’s history in medicine, Dr. Inae initially pursued a formal education at Saniku Gakuin College in Chiba, Japan, and earned an Associate of Arts in English. She furthered her efforts by receiving a Bachelor of Science in health sciences from Southern Adventist University in 2003. Soon thereafter, Dr. Inae attended the University Of Michigan School Of Public Health, where she graduated with a Master of Public Health in environmental health sciences. Furthermore, she concluded her academic efforts at the University Of Hawaii John A. Burns School Of Medicine, from where she secured a Doctor of Medicine in 2011. Consequently, she became certified through the American Board of Family Medicine.
At the start of her illustrious career, Dr. Inae served as a staff family physician at the Naval Hospital in Beaufort. She also served as a lieutenant commander in the United States Navy for six years. Currently, she contributes as the acting chief medical officer and chair of the Medical Executive Committee at the Naval Health Clinic of Hawaii. In order to remain aware of developments in her field, Dr. Inae maintains her professional affiliation with the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Association of Public Health.
Outside of work, she enjoys singing, reading, traveling, boogie boarding, swimming, and playing various instruments in her spare time. In five years, Dr. Inae wants to be involved in humanitarian work once her children are of age. She wants to travel to other countries and help others through the use of her knowledge of medicine. Likewise, she hopes to stay in the navy medical sector as a civilian.
